Hastee FAQs

Getting started

What is Hastee?

Hastee is a financial wellbeing app offered by your employer. It helps you manage your money day to day, build good money habits and make your salary go further.

What can I do with Hastee?

Hastee brings three things together:

  • Earn: get part of the pay you have already earned before payday, whenever you need it or automatically every week.
  • Learn: understand your money better with Financial Education, the Financial Health Check, the AI Financial Assistant and the Benefits Calculator.
  • Grow: make your salary go further with Boost your Pay and build a savings habit with My Savings.

The features you see depend on what your employer has chosen to offer.

Why does my employer offer Hastee?

Money worries affect how we feel at home and at work. Your employer offers Hastee as a benefit to support your financial wellbeing. It is free to join and there are no monthly costs. Withdrawals may have a small fee, and your employer may cover part of it. Boost your Pay and My Savings have no fee.

How do I get started?

Download the Hastee app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Then follow the sign up steps shared by your employer. It only takes a few minutes.

How do I sign up?

Enter the email address your employer has for you. We will send you an activation code (please check your spam folder). If you do not receive it, check the sign up instructions from your employer and make sure they have given you access. If you still have problems, please contact your payroll team.

I haven’t received my activation code

Make sure you entered the email address your employer has for you, and check your spam or junk folder. Your employer may also ask you to opt in to Hastee first, so please check their instructions. If you still need help, contact support@hastee.com.

Earn

What is Earned Wage Access?

Earned Wage Access lets you get part of the pay you have already earned, before payday. It can help you cover an unexpected cost without turning to expensive options such as overdrafts or payday loans. It is your money, just earlier.

Is it a loan?

No. There is no credit check and no interest. You are getting part of the pay you have already earned, so there is nothing to borrow and nothing to pay back separately.

How do I withdraw my earned pay?

On the home screen you will see your available balance. Tap “Withdraw”, choose the amount and confirm. If there is a fee, you will see it before you confirm.

How much can I withdraw?

You can withdraw a percentage of your earned pay in each pay period. Your employer sets this percentage, so you always keep part of your pay for payday.

What are the fees?

Withdrawals may have a small fee. Your employer may cover part of the cost, so fees can vary from one company to another. If there is a fee, you will always see it in the app before you confirm a withdrawal.

How does it affect my payslip?

The amount you withdraw, plus any fee, is taken from your next payslip by your employer. It happens automatically. Remember that what you withdraw now will not be in your pay on payday, so plan ahead.

What is Weekly Salary?

Weekly Salary sends part of your earned pay to your bank account automatically, every week or every two weeks, so you do not need to make manual withdrawals. You choose how often, on which day and the minimum amount to transfer. You will see a summary before you confirm, and you can change or stop it at any time.

Does Weekly Salary have a fee?

Each automatic transfer is a withdrawal, so it has the same fee as a manual withdrawal, if there is one. There is no extra cost for setting it up. You can see all your transfers and fees in My Activity.

How does Weekly Salary affect my payslip?

Just like manual withdrawals, the amounts sent to you, plus any fees, are taken from your next payslip. The more often you receive money, the less will be left for payday, so choose a frequency and amount that work for you.

Where can I see my withdrawals and fees?

Go to My Activity. There you can see how much you have earned, how much you have withdrawn, any fees and your available balance for this pay period, with simple charts by day.

How fast will I get my money?

We use Faster Payments, so your money usually arrives in minutes. Some banks may take longer. If you have not received your money within 24 hours, contact support@hastee.com.

When can I withdraw after signing up?

Most employers start building your balance from the day you sign up, so it may show zero at first. Once your employer uploads your shifts, your balance will grow.

What is cut-off?

Cut-off is the time your employer needs to prepare payroll. During cut-off you cannot withdraw money and your balance shows zero until the next pay cycle starts. Your employer decides when cut-off starts, and the app shows how many days are left before it begins. Any pay you have not withdrawn is paid to you as normal on payday.

Why is my balance zero?

There are three common reasons:

  • Missing shifts. If you are paid by the hour, some shifts may not be in your account yet. See “Why haven’t my shifts been updated?”
  • You have just signed up. Your balance usually starts at zero. See “When can I withdraw after signing up?”
  • You are in cut-off. See “What is cut-off?”

Any pay you have not withdrawn is paid to you as normal on payday.

Why haven’t my shifts been updated?

Your balance is updated on the schedule agreed between your employer and Hastee. If shifts are missing, please contact your payroll team. They approve your shifts and send them to us.

Why is my balance wrong?

Your employer may not have sent us your latest shifts yet. Please contact your payroll team. We can only see shifts your employer has approved. If you are on a salary, please ask your employer to check the salary they have set for you.

Does Hastee affect my State Benefits?

No. UK State Benefits look at your total earnings in each assessment period, not when you receive them. Getting part of your pay early does not change that total. For more information, visit MoneyHelper: Salary advance and Earned Wage Access explained.

Learn

What is the Financial Health Check?

The Financial Health Check is 12 short questions about your money habits. It gives you a financial health score out of 100, shows your strong and weaker points, and creates a personalised plan to help you improve.

Are my Financial Health Check answers confidential?

Yes. Your answers are 100% confidential and only you can see your score and your plan.

Can I retake the Financial Health Check?

Yes. You can retake it to see how your score changes over time.

Can my employer see my Financial Health Check results or what I do in the app?

What is the AI Financial Assistant?

The AI Financial Assistant is your smart companion for money questions. Ask it anything, at any time, for example how to build an emergency fund or whether to lease or buy a car, and get an instant answer.

No. The AI Financial Assistant gives general guidance to help you understand money topics. It does not give regulated financial advice. For big decisions, please speak to a qualified adviser.

Are my conversations with the AI Financial Assistant private?

Yes. Your conversations are not linked to your Hastee account or your employment details, and your employer cannot see them. Your conversations are not used to train AI models. Please do not share personal details such as your name, bank details or account numbers in the chat.

What is the Benefits Calculator?

The Benefits Calculator shows which government benefits, grants and social tariffs you may be able to get, and how much they could be worth each week or month. It uses the details you give and the current benefit and tax rates. We cannot guarantee you will be eligible. For each benefit, you can see how long it takes to apply and how soon you could receive the money, with a link to apply.

Grow

What is Boost your Pay?

Boost your Pay helps your salary go further. Buy e-gift cards from over 100 brands, including retail, travel and dining, and pay less than their value. The same money buys you more.

How does Boost your Pay work?

Choose a brand, enter the gift card value and see how much you save. You can add one gift card to your basket at a time. You pay with your available balance, and you always see the total before you confirm. Your gift card is shown in the app and sent to you by email.

How do I pay for a gift card?

You pay with the pay you have already earned, with no fee. You can see your available balance at the top of the Boost your Pay screen. The amount is deducted from your next payslip.

Is there a fee for Boost your Pay?

No. There is no fee when you buy a gift card with your available balance.

What if I don’t have enough balance?

You can only buy gift cards within your available balance and within each brand’s limits. Your balance grows as you earn during the pay period, so choose an amount that works for your budget.

Where can I use my gift card?

It depends on the brand. Before you buy, you can see if the gift card can be used in store, online or both.

Can I combine my gift card with another payment method or other gift cards?

It depends on the brand. Some brands let you pay part with a gift card and the rest another way, or use several gift cards in one purchase, and others do not. Please check the brand’s terms before you buy.

Does my gift card expire?

Yes. The expiry date depends on the brand. You can see it before you buy and afterwards in your gift card details.

Can I get a refund on a gift card?

No. Gift cards cannot be cancelled, refunded or exchanged once you have bought them. Please check the brand, the value, the expiry date and the terms before you confirm.

I haven’t received my gift card

You can find your gift card in the app. If you are looking for the email, check your spam or junk folder and mark the sender as safe. If you still cannot find it, contact support@hastee.com with the brand and the date of purchase.

What is My Savings?

My Savings helps you save automatically. Choose how much to save from each pay cycle and add your own savings account. Hastee sends that amount from your earned pay to your savings account every pay cycle, so you pay yourself first. You can edit or pause your savings at any time.

Where does the money for My Savings come from?

It comes from the pay you have already earned. Each transfer to your savings account is taken from your next payslip, just like a withdrawal.

Is there a fee for My Savings?

No. Transfers to your savings account are free.

Can I pause or change my savings?

Yes. Go to My Savings, tap the options button and choose Edit settings or Pause savings.
